چکیده

The complexity of mathematics has been pondered since the dawn time and it is considered one fundamental skills required prescribers to facilitate effective, safe practice. Williams & Davis (2016) remind us that potential for serious health consequences patients dependent on accuracy (or inaccuracy) clinician’s drug calculations. Indicator 4.6 in ‘A competency framework all prescribers’ (Royal Pharmaceutical Society, 2016) requires prescribing practitioner “Accurately completes routinely checks calculations relevant practical dosing”. However, there remains a significant amount anxiety respect numerical literacy amongst some clinicians, often characterised by negative emotions interfere with performance (Rolison, Morsanyi Peters, 2020). Opportunities maths education avoided those anxiety, thus compounding problem. Exposure embracing problem-solving should be central component prescriber’s continuous professional development, particularly if acknowledged. Royal College Nursing (2019) advocate harm will minimised are not rushed, but divided into smaller steps, using mental arithmetic, calculator, applying formula conversion tables. Try following remember Sir Isaac Newton [1643-1727] once said Truth [the answer] ever found simplicity, multiplicity confusion things. To this end, try keep simple!

Keeping It Simple

The Post-Albers reaction scheme of the Na ϩ ,K ϩ-ATPase has been remarkably successful, for over a quarter-century , in explaining the biochemical behavior of the isolated enzyme, and is still the backbone of current bio-physical models for the various transport modes (elec-trogenic Na/K exchange; electroneutral and electrogenic Na/Na exchanges; K/K exchange, etc.) of the sodium pump. Because o...

Keeping it Simple: Financial Literacy and Rules of Thumb

Micro-entrepreneurs often lack the financial literacy required for the complex financial decisions they face. We conduct a randomized control trial with a bank in the Dominican Republic to compare the impact of two distinct programs: a standard accounting training versus a simplified, rule-of-thumb training that teaches basic financial heuristics. Only the latter produced significant improvemen...

Language Acquisition and Probabilistic Models: keeping it simple

Hierarchical Bayesian Models (HBMs) have been used with some success to capture empirically observed patterns of underand overgeneralization in child language acquisition. However, as is well known, HBMs are “ideal” learning systems, assuming access to unlimited computational resources that may not be available to child language learners. Consequently, it remains crucial to carefully assess the...

Keeping it simple: the value of an irreducibly simple climate model

Richardson et al. (Sci Bull, 2015. doi:10.1007/s11434-015-0806-z) suggest that the irreducibly simple climate model described in Monckton of Brenchley et al. (Sci Bull 60:122-135, 2015. doi:10.1007/s11434-014-0699-2) was not validated against observations, relying instead on synthetic test data based on underestimated global warming, illogical parameter choice and near-instantaneous response at...

Keeping it simple: flowering plants tend to retain, and revert to, simple leaves.

• A wide range of factors (developmental, physiological, ecological) with unpredictable interactions control variation in leaf form. Here, we examined the distribution of leaf morphologies (simple and complex forms) across angiosperms in a phylogenetic context to detect patterns in the directions of changes in leaf shape. • Seven datasets (diverse angiosperms and six nested clades, Sapindales, ...
